“Captains of Comedy” is a registered non–profit entertainment show created by parents of the students in the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, Connecticut. The stand–up comedy show features outstanding talents and top comic performers who in addition to stand–up have written and performed for shows on MTV, Comedy Central, and NBC. Past shows have featured performers who are regulars on “The Daily Show,” and who’ve also performed at political conventions.
Since its debut four years ago, Captains of Comedy has printed about 1,100 tickets per show. Due to increasing printing costs, the non–profit needed a cost–effective method for providing tickets as well as an efficient way to track and validate them.
IntelliTrack built a custom barcode scanning ticket validation application to meet the show’s needs. To fulfill Captains of Comedy’s need for electronic ticketing, IntelliTrack’s ticket application generates a unique barcode label in addition to providing a history for each ticket sold. This is invaluable at show time: as tickets are scanned, the barcodes are validated
IntelliTrack helps Captains of Comedy save money in printing costs and invalid tickets.
That’s more money back into a charitable cause, so students can do more great things for the community in which they live.
